2020 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Terlan Sauvignon Blanc "Quarz", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm and deep, tart, somewhat yeasty and clearly planty aroma with white, green and yellow fruit aromas, floral nuances and minerality. Ripe, tightly knit, very juicy, yet tart fruit, clearly vegetal and still slightly yeasty aromas, fine, lively acidity and some grip, a lot of power, some warmth, but at the same time also freshness and cooling, almost a little ethereal elements, a hint of dark berries in the background, a certain melting, dense, multi-layered and deep, peppery nuances, hints of smoky tones, still very young, very good to long, firm, tart-juicy finish. Gains strength over days and only shows its full potential with plenty of air.

Editor note: Firm, complex and deep, quite cool, somewhat vegetal to herbal, tobacco and hints of smoky scent of yellow fruits with slightly blackberry, bacon and hints of nutty-woody aromas. Polished, ripe, firm, concentrated fruit with a noticeable acid bite, some ethereal-herbal nuances as well as a hint of blackberries, has grip of ripe tannin, excellent substance and persistence, gooseberries and pepper in the background, good depth, a hint of butter, some light wood, intense, light and dark minerality, long, animating and multilayered finish with traction.
