2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Terlan Pinot Bianco Riserva "Rarity", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm and deep, nutty, herbal and slightly yeasty aroma with cool citrus and pome fruit aromas, some smoke, floral traces, hints of light tobacco and minerality. Ripe, tart, melting and at the same time very tightly knit fruit with nutty and smoky aromas, yeast, light tobacco, chalk and salt, lively, very fine acidity, grip of crumbly tannin, smoky nuances, hints of white pepper, has a lot of power and a certain melting, but also finesse and elegance, deep, multi-layered, very long, grippy finish with buttery notes, some peanut, plenty of minerality and persistence. Once again clearly stronger than 2 years ago; still seems young.
