2013 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Cabernet-Merlot Riserva Sanct Valentin, Alto Adige, Italy

Light green vegetal and herbaceous notes on the nose, touch of bell peppers, predominantly black berries, animal and earthy notes, noticeable sharp alcohol. Ripe, slightly jammy fruit on the palate, spicy oak and cocoa, more prominent bell peppers, fine sandy tannins, slightly astringent, light acid bite, full-bodied, noticeable high alcohol, slightly rustic style, sooty traces and some burnt nuts, earthy notes and mushrooms, good to very good finish.

Ripe, dark, partly preserved fruit on the palate, more sooty oak nutty aromas, hint of tobacco, fairly prominent integrated tannins, still slightly astringent, hint of bacon, light floral traces, tart spicy notes, good substance and persistence, fairly rustic style, some tonka beans, touch of dried mushrooms, sweetish and creamy, some umami on a very good finish.
