2019 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva "Freiherr", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, slightly iodine, herbal and tobacco aroma of ripe blackcurrants with a little dried tomato, oregano and black olives. Very ripe dark fruit in the mouth, toasty and bitter chocolaty wood with coffee spice, a little oregano also on the palate, hints of dried tomatoes and black olives, some bite, salt in the background, almondy-nutty hints, very good, firm, alcoholic finish with ripe dark juice and a little bitterish wood.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2030+. What our ratings mean
