2017 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva "Siebeneich", Alto Adige, Italy

Black berries and a few cherries on the nose, hint of tobacco, nutty oak and floral traces. Full-bodied and tart on the palate, light oak, hint of tobacco and some dark chocolate, integrated, sandy, slightly astringent tannins, hint of ash, noticeable high alcohol, fairly concentrated, but not particularly deep, earthy notes, salty traces, noticeable oak and slightly jammy fruit on a good to very good finish.
