2017 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot Riserva "Gant", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, smoky and bacony-fleshy scent of ripe black berries with dried tomatoes with peppery and dried herbal aromas and a little black olives. Ripe, juicy, somewhat warm, firm fruit, smoky wood and again greasy notes, present, youthful, still slightly sandy tannin, lasting, much strength and substance, somewhat earthy and hinted salty in the background, dried vegetable to tobacco tones, still undeveloped, certain depth, very good, compact aftertaste with tart dark juice and smoky wood spice
