2020 Spätburgunder "Rescued by H.O.", Ahr, Germany

Clear, quite firm and deep, tart, tobacco and a hint of ashy scent of red and black berries with smoky to slightly bacony and a little Mediterranean-spicy aromas as well as a hint of pepper. Firmly woven, ripe, tangy fruit, toasty wood spice, some smoke and present, fine sandy, still slightly drying tannin, herbal and distinctly salty notes, persistent on the palate, some power, good depth, very good, firm, tangy and smoky finish with bite and again mineral tones.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2030+. What our ratings mean
