2019 Rech Herrenberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs, Ahr, Germany

Firm and quite deep, slightly dried vegetal aroma of ripe red and black berries with tobacco notes, a hint of malt, mineral tones and some woody spice. Firm, compact and tart-juicy in the mouth, still quite distinct, nutty and a little tobacco wood, present tannins, smoky and hints of bacon, dried mushrooms in the background, cocoa spicy notes and a little coffee, good persistence, has power and some depth, still a little drying in the very good, again compact finish. Still needs to mature.
