The region (ital. Campania) with the capital Naples is located in the southwest of Italy along the Tyrrhenian coast near the "boot instep". More to the south are only the regions of Puglia to the east, as well as Calabria and Sicily. It is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Italy, the cultivation of wine here goes back to the Etruscans.
