2015 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder trocken aus dem Cabinetkeller, Mauerwein, Goldkapsel, Versteigerungswein, Rheingau, Germany

Sooty oak on the nose, hint of bacon, earthy and dried vegetal notes, slightly muted, black and red berries, black olives, tart nutty notes. Partly preserved and slightly muted tart, dark fruit on the palate, sooty oak, dried vegetal aromas, touch of sugar candy, salty traces, light herbaceous notes, slightly astringent tannins, noticeable warm alcohol, not particularly deep, some smoked bacon and dark chocolate, opens up slightly with aeration, but remains rather dominated by bitter sooty oak, good to very good finish.
