2016 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gries Lagrein Riserva "Select", Alto Adige, Italy

Dried vegetal notes and a hint of tobacco on the nose, touch of dark chocolate, herbaceous traces, touch of juniper, meaty traces. Tart, juicy, dark, partly preserved fruit on the palate, prominent oak with dark chocolate and coffee notes, persistent, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, touch of herbs and spices, very slightly jammy style, ripe warm fruit, chocolate and oak on a very good finish.
