2016 Blaufränkisch trocken Rusterberg, Burgenland, Austria

Quite firm, slightly tobacco aroma of predominantly black berries and some cherries with dried floral, slightly herbal and peppery notes. Tight, tangy fruit with noticeable acidity and still youthful tannin, some cocoa and coffee in the background, herbal and peppery nuances, also salty minerality, has freshness, some depth, very good, tight, tangy finish with smoky nuances, a hint of juniper and again a lot of bite. A lot of wine for the money.

Editor note: Astringent, firm, slightly tobaccoy-woody spicy scent of ripe black berries and a little cherry with peppery and slightly smoky notes, dried herbs and certain minerality. Taut, tart, juicy, youthful fruit, present, slightly sandy tannin and lively acidity, toasty wood aromas, some dried herbs and pepper on the palate, persistent, with hints of citrus, has a certain tension, very good, tight, juicy and mineral finish with a lot of bite. A lot of wine for the money
