The winery is located in the free town of Rust in Burgenland (Austria). Hermann Hammer travelled the world as a photographer, and in 1994 he took over his parents-in-law's winery as a career changer. Flats are also available for rent in the Atriumhof, an old farmhouse with a beautiful courtyard. The winery has been managed by Markus Hammer since 2015. The vineyards cover 4.5 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Alter Umriss, Geyer, Ludmaisch, Neuer Umriss, Bandkräftn, Plachen, Satz, Vogelsang and Waldumriss. They are 75% planted with the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Welschriesling, Sauvignon Bl anc and Gelber Muskateller, and 25% with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch and Merlot.
Since the 2014 vintage, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the certified rules of organic viticulture, without the use of synthetic chemicals in the vineyards. Careful foliage management and yield reduction form the basis for high quality. Only physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are processed through selective harvesting. Vinification is carried out according to the non-invasive principle "as much as necessary, as little as possible". Great importance is attached to vintage and terroir typicity. Premium wines include selections aged in barriques, several Ruster Ausbruch essence from different varieties and Merlot. In years with suitable weather conditions, ice wines and Trockenbeerenauslesen are also produced. Various wines are also offered in large bottle formats such as magnum (1.5 l) and double magnum (3 l). A bottle-fermented vintner's sparkling wine is also produced.
