2018 Barolo DOCG "Sperss", Piedmont, Italy

Firm and deep, rather fine, slightly nutty, mushroomy and moderately barrel-woody aroma of red and black berries with dried floral nuances, a little dried coriander, hints of soy sauce and juniper as well as tar and some tobacco. Taut, pure-toned, fine-juicy, almost cool, noble fruit, some acid bite and very fine, present, even tannin, dense and persistent on the palate, ethereal spice and again clearly soy sauce, a little dried flowers in the background, a touch of cocoa and nuts, peppery hints, distinct minerality, has concentration and at the same time elegance, salty minerality, plenty of tension, still undeveloped, deep and complex, very good, taut, tangy and finely spicy, also somewhat ethereal finish with traction.
