2018 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Tart, firm, tobacco, rose-scented and reminiscent of dried leaves, also a hint of cedar with restrained red berry aromas, a little black berries, dried flowers and earthy tones. Firm and tart-juicy in the mouth, nutty, dried floral and slightly tarry aromas, present, ripe, rather fine tannin, persistent on the palate, rather concentrated, yet for all its power also fine and elegant, relatively bright style, ethereal nuances, a hint of truffle in the background, earthy-salty mineral tones, a hint of coffee grounds in the background, complex, still undeveloped, quite deep, again a hint of tar, very good to long, juicy, finely spicy, complex aromatic finish. Still needs a little time, even though it already has plenty of charm
