Fairly mature nose, quite deep and complex, partly dried red berries, chestnuts, plums, notes of wilted and dried flowers, light spicy notes, spicy oak. Also starting to show signs of maturity on the palate, light spicy oak, ripe fruit, initially soft, but firming up with aeration, hints of dried flowers, fine, sandy, predominantly mature tannins, evenly distributed, very deep and persistent, creamy, mineral notes in the background, complex, full-bodied and at the same time elegant, oxidative traces, incredibly long, beguiling, deeply moving finish, lends the wine a so far quite unexpected dimension. Taken from a half bottle, requires at least 30 minutes aeration.
Best to drink: Bis 2014+, in der ganzen Flasche wohl viel länger - und vielleicht erst ab 2012 ideal. What our ratings mean
