The winegrowers' cooperative with its headquarters in the municipality of Fellbach (just outside Stuttgart) at the foot of the Kappelberg in the German winegrowing region of Württemberg was founded in 1858. Around 70 events are offered, including culinary wine tastings, vineyard tours, trips in vintage buses and wine (puzzle) tours with handcarts. Thomas Seibold (Chairman), Florian Gruner (Administration), Albrecht Schurr (Sales), Tobias Single (Cellar Master) and Michael Sixt (Events) are responsible for the operation.
There are around 120 member companies. The "next generation young winegrowers' co-operation" was founded in 2007 and is now in its third generation. At regular meetings, members discuss current work in the vineyard, actively participate in winemaking and support the Fellbacher Weingärtner team with marketing.
The members' vineyards cover 190 hectares of vines in the Fellbach single vineyard sites of Gips, Goldberg, Herzogenberg, Lämmler and Mönchberg. Two thirds of the red wine varieties Trollinger (Schiava Grossa), Pinot Noir, Black Riesling, Blauburger, Lemberger (Blaufränkisch), Merlot, Syrah, Acolon, Dornfelder, Samtrot, Cabernet Cubin and Cabernet Dorio and one third of the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer are cultivated and processed.
The extensive range is divided into the lines Edition C (fine fruity wines typical of the region), Edition S (selection through yield regulation) and Edition P (premium wines). The white wines are generally matured in stainless steel tanks; in some cases there are maceration periods. The red wines of the "Edition P" mature in wooden barrels and partly in barriques.
The online shop comprises over 100 products with red wines, white wines and wine specialities. These include bottle-fermented sparkling wine, semi-sparkling wine, liqueur, marc brandy, brandy, wine vinegar, balsamic vinegar, grape juice and wine jelly. Around 1.5 million bottles of wine are produced every year.
