The oldest and one of the four largest producers on the island of Cyprus was founded in 1844 as a family business, today it is a public limited company. The company's headquarters are in the city of Limassol in the Commandaria wine-growing area. It is produced according to certified rules of ISO 9001 and HACCP. The product range includes a wide selection of bottled wines that are marketed locally and internationally. Among others, this is the best-selling Cypriot fortified wine EMVA Cream Liqueur. A considerable part is sold in bulk for further processing (e.g. for sangria and Vermouth).
In 1992, a winery was established in the municipality of Omodhos under the name Olympus Wineries Limited. The vineyards cover 40 hectares with the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz (Syrah), Merlot, Chardonnay and Riesling. In 1999, the winery Olympus Hellas was purchased in Greece on the Peloponnese. The POP wines Mantinia and Nemea are produced here. Etko also conducts research and experiments for the production of new wines and for this purpose planted its own vineyards with new grape varieties in the Zanadzia area. The products are exported in Europe to Germany, Great Britain, Norway, Russia and Sweden, as well as to Australia, Japan, Canada, Taiwan and the USA.
