The winery is located in the municipality of Oía Baxes on the island of Thira in the Aegean archipelago of Santorini
. It was founded in 1991 by Paris Sigalas, Christos Markozane and Yiannis Toundas. The winery in Oía Baxes was opened in 1998. In 2003, Alexander Avataggelos took a stake in the company and it took on its current name. Subsequently, there were large investments in new technology and modernisation of the production. The managing director is Paris Sigalas, who is one of the most famous winemakers in Greece
. The vineyards cover 19 hectares (13 of which are owned), planted with the white varieties Assyrtiko and Athiri Aspro, and the red varieties Mandilaria and Mavrotragano. Natural viticulture is practised according to ecological guidelines. The product range includes the two OPAP wines Santorini
both dry and sweet as Vinsanto
, as well as several Topikos Ionos (country wines). About 300.000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Since 2005, the distribution of the wines is carried out by V. S. Karoulias. They are exported to many European countries, as well as to Japan, Hong-Kong, Dubai, USA and Canada.
