Municipal appellation in French Burgundy between Chagny and Rully in the north-western corner of the large area of Côte Chalonnaise. It covers the areas of the communes of Bouzeron and Chassey-le-Camp. The vineyards cover around 60 hectares of vines on nutrient-poor clay and limestone soils at an altitude of 270 to 350 metres above sea level, most of which are planted with the white grape variety Aligoté. In the past, the wines were marketed under Bourgogne Aligoté, but from 1979 they were allowed to add the common name and bear the designation "Bourgogne Aligoté Bouzeron", before a separate appellation...

The white grape variety comes from France. Synonyms grouped alphabetically by country are Aligotte, Alligotay, Alligoté, Alligotet, Beaunié, Beaunois, Chaudenet Gras, Giboulot, Giboudot, Griset Blanc, Plant de Trois, Plant Gris, Troyen Blanc, Vert Blanc(France); Mukhranuli (Georgia); Carcairone Blanc(Italy); Aligote Bijeli (former Yugoslavia); Mahranauli(Moldova). Although it appears to have synonyms or morphological similarities, it should not be confused with Chardonnay (Beaunois), Melon de Bourgogne, Sacy (Aligoté Vert) or Welschriesling....
