2012 Alsace Grand Cru AOC Gewürztraminer "Sonnenglanz", Alsace, France

Light golden yellow. Quite firm and deep, somewhat floral, herbal, nutty and waxy nose of candied yellow fruits with slightly ethereal aromas, a hint of black and white berries and light mineral hints. Somewhat developed, ripe, firm, sweet fruit with peppery and a little light-woody aromas, very fine, lively acidity, some ripe tannin, good substance and persistence, some depth, slight fermentation tones in the background, salty and earthy minerality, has power, lots of yellow spice, very good finish with some alcohol warmth and aromatic varietal bitterness.
