2018 Côtes duTarn IGP "Renaissanca", South-west France, France

Aroma of partly preserved black and a little red berries with dried-vegetable and lavender-floral tones as well as a hint of pepper and juniper. Tart fruit with herbal and peppery notes, slightly ethereal aromas, friable, relatively youthful tannins, some pepper, good persistence, medium power, a touch of bacon and mushrooms, very good finish. Clearly more convincing than the first sample.

Editor note: Quite youthful aroma of cherries and dark berries with some herbal and nutty tones. Partly preserved, quite juicy fruit with fleshy and herbal notes, quite friable tannin, some power and warmth, slightly marmalade-like tones, a little spicy, not too deep, quite good finish.
