2017 Sicilia DOC Nero d'Avola "Vurria...", Sicily, Italy

Light herbaceous notes on the nose, cherries, mixed berries and some pomegranate, floral and tarry traces. Clear, straightforward, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, nutty and dried herbaceous aromas, hint of tobacco, touch of tar again, lively, elegant acidity, youthful, but ripe tannins, hint of cocoa and coffee in the background, good persistence, reined-in power, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, spicy traces, hint of chocolate on a very good, juicy finish.
