Wine Review Report :

Last reviewed: 30 May, 2018

The communal appellation is located as an enclave at the southern end of the Mâconnais area in Burgundy. However, it should not be confused with the Pouilly-Fumé (Sauvignon Blanc) area on the Loire. The Saint-Véran appellation adjoins to the south. The vineyards cover 760 hectares of vineyards in the four communes of Chaintré, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly and Vergisson. Site names may be used (but there are no Grand Cru or Premier Cru sites). White wines of the Chardonnay variety are allowed.
