2017 Assmannshausen Pinot Noir, Rheingau, Germany

Clear nose, light floral and earthy notes, mineral notes, predominatly red berries, dried vegetal traces, light nutty oak. Firm and tart fruit on the palate, noticeable smoky oak and fairly prominent tannins, light salty notes, light acid bite, slightly astringent, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, good persistence, becomes more juicy and gains dapth with aeration, hint of dried mushrooms, good to very good, tart, smoky, alcoholic finish.
