2015 Rüdesheim Drachenstein Pinot Noir, Rheingau, Germany

Firm, fairly dark nose, hint of smoked bacon, earthy notes and some oak, black and red berries and a few cherries, some juniper, dreied floral, herbaceous and mineral notes. Clear, ripe, tart, juicy, fairly polished fruit on the palate, light oak, hint of tobacco and some dried vegetal notes, hint of bacon, earthy and chalky mineral notes, firm structure, still largely undeveloped, good substance and persistence, still very slightly astringent, becomes more fresh, deep and more juicy with aeration, very good tart finish. Needs time to mature.
