2014 Assmannshausen Pinot Noir trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Delicate touch of dried flowers on the nose, elegant red and a few black berries, prominent violet notes, some oak, earthy and mineral notes. Cool, tart, fairly polished fruit on the palate, slightly smoky oak, hint of vanilla, floral notes, fairly prominent, youthful and fairly fine tannins, noticeable acid bite, fairly persistent, noticeable high alcohol, salty notes and cocoa, vegetal and light spicy notes on a very good finish.
