2017 Roero DOCG "Tenuta Laramè - Tumlin Loreto", Piedmont, Italy

Clear, polished, tart black and red berry nose with a hint of maple, juniper ethereal notes, a little smoke and dry herbs. quite tightly knit, ripe, tart, fresh fruit, some smoky and almondy-nutty wood spice, peppery and junipery tones, persistent and grippy, fine acid bite, has power but also freshness and subtlety, still young, salty minerality, minty traces, present but ripe, very fine tannin, some depth, very good, tight finish with youthful juice and again ethereal spice. Nothing less than a sensation in its price category.
