2005 Barbaresco DOCG Riserva "Villa Aurora", Piedmont, Italy

Smoky, slightly joddy and mushy nose, more red than black berries, some tar and tobacco with dried floral and undergrowth notes. Clear, straightforward, tart fruit with predominantly red juice, vegetal to floral nuances and hints of mushrooms, fine-sandy tannins, good persistence, hint of coffee-roasted notes, the air increases on the one hand with the wood, but at the same time the fruit becomes juicier and fresher, then almost itches youthful, very good finish with delicate licorice notes.
