2017 Barolo DOCG Margheria, Piedmont, Italy

Very slightly fleshy, malty and iodine-like aroma of mixed berries with dried floral as well as vegetal notes, mushrooms and a hint of tar. Straightforward, tart fruit with nutty aromas, some cocoa-spicy and tobacco wood tones and ethereal hints, clearly juniper, crumbly-sandy, relatively fine tannin, good persistence and some depth, gets darker and firmer with air, very good finish with slightly warm juice and clearly spicy notes.
