The "Cantine Ascheri Giacomo" winery is located in the centre of the town of Brà in the province of Cuneo in the Italian region of Piedmont. It was founded in 1880 and is still family owned. Today it is run by Matteo Ascheri, assisted by the oenologist Giuliano Baghino and the agronomist Edoardo Monticelli. The "Osteria Murivecchi" (restaurant) and a hotel are attached. The vineyards cover 28 hectares of vineyards around the municipalities of La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba in the heart of the Barolo area. There is a wide range of DOC and DOCG wines. These are Barbera d'Alba (Fontanelle), Barolo (Sorano, Sorano Coste & Bricco, Vigna dei Pola), Dolcetto d'Alba (Vigna Nirane, Vigna San Rocco), Langhe, Nebbiolo d'Alba (Bricco San Giacomo) and Roero (Arneis Christina Ascheri). The wines are produced in the three estates of Montalupa (Brà), Rivalta (La Morra) and Sirano (Serralunga), depending on the location of the vineyards. The wines are aged in large oak barrels (not in barriques). About 300,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Grappa is also produced.
