2016 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Riserva Sassella "Nuova Regina", Lombardy, Italy

Very slightly warm, extremely deep and complex, tobacco and leathery aroma of ripe, partly dried red and a little black berries with nutty hints, cedar, hints of pepper and allspice, a touch of iodine, hints of tar and tomato nuances. Taut, tangy, youthful fruit, present acidity and fine sandy, ripe tannin, dried herbal nuances, pepper, allspice and tobacco, persistent, still rather underdeveloped, deep and complex, salty minerality, very good to long, grippy, complex finish with bite.
