2009 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Riserva Sassella "Rocce Rosse", Lombardy, Italy

Firm, deep, fairly complex nose, ripe black and red berries, dried floral aromas, elegant spicy notes, herbaceous traces, hint of bacon, prominent mineral notes. Tart, very firm fruit on the palate, firm youthful, ripe tannins, light acid bite, prominent mineral notes, herbaceous and light spicy aromas, good depth, still youthful, toasted traces, hint of cocoa, light spicy and prominent mineral notes, balsamic and ethereal notes on a very good, firm, tart, juicy, peppery finish.
