1999 Valtellina Superiore DOCG Riserva Sassella Riserva "Rocce Rosse", Lombardy, Italy

Firm, fairly deep and complex nose, partly dried red berries, cassis, tart herbaceous notes, elegant tobacco notes, hint of plums, dried flowers and prominent mineral notes. Firm on the palate, old oak, earthy and salty mineral notes, vegetal notes, medium-fine, slightly astringent tannins, persistent and has some depth, more dried herbs, hint of soup stock, leathery traces, wilted leaves, tart mineral notes on a very good finish.
