2018 Monferrato DOC Rosso "Rouchet®", Piedmont, Italy

Firm, tart, somewhat leathery, earthy and tobacco aroma of ripe black berries with some iodine, hints of tar and wild mushrooms. quite tightly knit, tart, slightly smoky fruit with nutty and hints of toasty tones, fine sandy tannin, persistent on the palate, some herbs, black olives, iodine and leather, has power, good persistence and some depth, allspice in the background, also a hint of cardamom, some warmth, very good, firm, tart-juicy finish with lots of dark, partly ethereal spice.
