2018 Leithaberg DAC Ried Jungenberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm and deep, at first clearly nutty, woody and tobacco aroma with increasing aromas of ripe black berries and cherries, a little clove spice, thyme and juniper. Ripe, juicy, polished, spicy fruit with dry herbal notes and juniper, some acid bite, quite present, yet crumbly tannin, persistent, good depth, a little smoke in the background, clearly herbal flavours, has power but also elegance, very good, firm, spicy finish with lots of ripe, almost sweetish juice and fine spice.
