2017 Roero DOCG Riserva "Sudisfá", Piedmont, Italy

Firm and quite deep, multi-layered, somewhat tobacco and leathery aroma of ripe red and also black berries with dried floral and herbal nuances, a little mushroom, tar and juniper. Tight, dense, tangy fruit with lots of grip of ripe tannin, some bite, candy notes, liquorice and peppery spice, persistent and powerful but also with some freshness and subtlety, lasting, good depth, smoky hints, some juniper, quite complex, very good, tight, juicy, slightly smoky and again spicy finish. Grandiose Roero.
