The Champagne House in Reims was founded in 1985 by Alain Thiénot. He had previously worked as an influential broker in the Champagne region. The vineyards cover 14 hectares in the Grand Cru communities of Aÿ and Mesnil-sur-Oger. Different champagnes are produced from the three classic varieties. The Cuvée de Prestige is the "Grande Cuvée" brand. In 1995 his cousin Jean Claude Fourmon sold him 51% of the Champagne House Joseph Perrier. Thiénot also owns the champagne houses Marie Stuart and since 2003 Canard-Duchêne, as well as the Bordeaux vineyards Château Rahoul in Graves and Château de Ricaud in Loupiac. Son Stanislas and daughter Garance Barbier-Thiénot are also active in the company. In 2007, Thiénot took over the majority shares of Dourthe-Kressmann (Bordeaux).
